Rtn. Purnendu Roychowdhury, comes from a business family and dedicated Rotarian for two decades, was born on 11t6h December n Kolkata , India. He is a graduate with a Bachelor of Commerce degree from Calcutta University. Mr. Roychowdhury has made significant contributions. To India's scientific instrumentation and precision weighing industry.
His association with Rotary international began on 19 th Sept'2000 when he joined the RC Calcutta , Asia's longest running Rotary Club. Over the course of 26 years of distinguish service , he has held numerous pivotal positions at both the club and district level. He was the centennial year president ( 2029-20) in the club He held the position of Aide to DG( 2023-24 ), Assistant District Secretary-Logistics ( 2022-23 ), AG ( Admn ), Zonal
Secretary. He was District Paul harries Society Coordinator in the year 3034-35.
He attended multiple Rotary international Conventions, Bangkok 2012, Lisbon 2013, Hamburg 2019, Melbourne 2023 and Singapore 2024. Recognised as a Major Donor ( Level-2 )to the R. I. Foundation, he exemplifies the spirit of “ Service Above Self “ through both philanthropy and active leadership. He played a key role in defining its mission to bolster membership and enhance Rotary's presence in underserved regions

He was actively engaged in community development through the establishment and sponsorship of new Rotary clubs , formation of satellite clubs etc. He holds corporate memberships with leading business chambers such as BNCCI, CII, BCCI,FOSML etc etc. He is a respected member of prominent social institutions like the Bengal Club, Tollygunge Club, Saturday Club. Moreover , he serves as the vice president of Rehabilitation India. Residing in Kolkata with his wife, Mrs. Sucharita Roychowdhury, he continues to inspire through his dynamic leadership, professional achievements, unwavering commitment to humanitarian service.
